Why study Innovation and Change?

This field of study will not be available for commencement until semester 2, 2009.

Einstein observed "We cannot solve problems with the same mindset that created them." The healthcare system faces increasing challenges and growing complexity. Clinicians must be involved and provide leadership with other stakeholders in the invention of improved and novel approaches to support the healthcare delivery of today and tomorrow.

A focus on this field of study will enable the health professional to take a leadership role in the evolution of health services to meet current and future challenges.

All portions of these studies are also offered as continuing education modules. Persons wishing to be awarded a Graduate Certificate in Health Sciences must complete at least one-third of the 8 units of the Graduate Certificate while specifically enrolled in the Graduate Certificate in Health Sciences at UQ.

What you can study

This field of study develops in a chronological sequence, encompassing how to identify and prioritise targets for innovation and how to implement your vision, culminating in how to evaluate the impact of the innovation and sustain the new status quo. Furthermore, participants will learn how to examine and implement the latest innovative workforce strategies necessary to meet the demand of contemporary healthcare, and will develop imaginative thinking to cultivate solutions to current and future workforce issues.
