Why study Ethics?

Ethics programs are suitable for students with little or no undergraduate background in the discipline. Students can tailor their study to acquire a general understanding of ethics, or to develop knowledge in a particular area of interest. Graduates possess an enriched social, cultural and historical understanding of the source and nature of contemporary ethical problems; an appreciation of philosophical issues raised by ethical dilemmas; an understanding of ethical and social problems associated with technological developments; an understanding of the multidisciplinary character of contemporary ethical issues; enhanced precision and clarity in communication skills; and the capacity to analyse complex problems carefully and critically. Please note that this program is designed for students with little or no prior background in the field. Some of the courses listed in this field are delivered jointly to undergraduate and postgraduate students.
