Why study Engineering Science?

Students pursuing Engineering Science will obtain advanced skills in engineering analysis and problem solving and this field will be suitable for those interested in solving advanced technical challenges, managing projects and overseeing teams. Students develop greater understanding of complex engineering challenges and gain practical experience and knowledge of advanced engineering tools and processes by working through case studies and on individual projects relevant to their field. Students acquire mathematical and experimental skills and advanced materials knowledge to address and solve complex engineering problems. This specialisation builds on and extends knowledge taught in undergraduate engineering programs and has been designed to produce engineers that will lead their companies and industries into the future. Available fields of study are represented by completion of projects in one specialisation: Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering.

What you can study

Students will undertake the #16 required for the existing Engineering Science program in the ME and will combine this with advanced undergraduate engineering electives (up to a maximum of #8) and/or with courses (up to a maximum of #16) from the Master of Business progam.

Fields of study (projects) available in Engineering Science include:

  • Chemical Engineering
  • Civil Engineering
  • Materials Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Mechatronic Engineering.
