Why study Counselling?

This field prepares students for research and practice in counselling psychology through a combination of coursework, supervised practice, and research experience. Counselling psychologists assist individuals across a range of life challenging situations. These challenges may include issues concerning relationship problems, the maximization of personal goals, or guidance through distress. Counselling psychologists recognise and support the assumption that individuals need to actively formulate their own plans to reach life goals. Graduates are eligible for registration as psychologists in Queensland and for associate membership in the College of Counselling Psychologists.
