Why study Community Mental Health?

Students gain an understanding of the broad range of factors integral to the evolution of our conceptualisation of mental health and illness. Courses address methodologies of assessment and diagnosis in mental health, as well as the skills and approach required for effective case management and psychosocial rehabilitation. Healthcare professionals are equipped to play leading clinical and policy roles within the mental healthcare system, and gain specialist expertise in forensic mental health; the mental health of children and young people; or mental health of older people.
