Why study Addiction Studies?
Students develop a comprehensive understanding of the political, social, economic and scientific factors which impinge on development of alcohol and drug-related policies, services, treatment and prevention modalities. This plan updates knowledge, enhances skills for lifelong learning; and develops the ability to critically analyse, interpret and apply relevant research findings.
All fields of study are a mixture of internal and external delivery. All core courses are offered internally and externally. If a student wishes to complete the program either entirely by internal or external delivery the choice of courses is more limited.
International students may not undertake the program (except the 'Standard' field of study from Semester 1 2008) on campus at UQ on a full-time basis; they may only study from their home countries and will not be eligible for an Australian student visa.
Summer semester entry not available for international students.
