Course description
Fundamental principles of drug metabolism, transport & toxicology. Phase I & II processes & enzyme systems. Phase III transporters. "Phase O" uptake systems. Adverse drug interactions & reactions. Pharmacogenetics. Cytotoxicity. Chemical carcinogenesis. Teratogenesis. Toxicology of selected organ systems. No formal contact hours but students are expected to spend approximately 12 hours in private study per week on this course.
