Course description
This course develops an understanding of the nature of data and builds your statistical expertise and critical judgement. You will learn about how data can be visualised and summarised and how you can make conclusions and predictions from statistical analyses. In addition, you will examine research on student reasoning in statistics and consider how chance and data concepts can be developed in the classroom. Topics include descriptive statistics, regression, central limit theorem, confidence intervals, probability, sampling and design, and an introduction to hypothesis testing. This course may not be offered internally if the enrolment is less than 10 students.
