Course description

This course is offered as SOCY2049 from 2009. Qualitative Researching aims to equip students with introductory skills in social scientific research. It introduces students to the qualitative research design and process used in the substantive areas of development, health, social and public policy and criminal justice. Students will engage with the craft of research through reading published accounts of qualitative fieldwork, engaging with qualitative fieldwork issues and developing their skills in asking research questions in one of these substantive areas.
