Course description
Not offered in 2010.
This course aims to provide an introduction to the psychology of reading development and difficulties and to show students how to integrate material from a range of sub-areas of psychology to bear on the evaluation of aspects of educational practice. It provides a cohesive framework for the understanding of both reading difficulties and teaching methods. Lectures examine current research against the background of theoretical issues in skilled reading, reading development, and dyslexia. Tutorials supplement lecture material.
