Course description

This course has a minimum quota of 12 enrolments.
The resolution of deep-seated and international conflict poses a range of challenges for the dynamic and rapidly evolving global conflict resolution field which emerged in the second half of the twentieth century. To respond to these challenges this course critically considers the frameworks for conflict resolution from the liberal peace to development efforts and to non-Western approaches and processes. These contextual issues will be addresses alongside the design and implementation of conflict resolution process, including questions of legitimacy and functions of conflict resolution interveners, planning intervention, conflict analysis, and undertaking third party roles. Learning in this course draws on scholarship, case studies, and simulations.
