Course description

This is one of two courses specifically written for health workers involved in gastroenterology or public health settings, including registered nurses, scientists or public health personnel with an interest in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Students will develop advanced knowledge of the biology encompassing principles of anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, immunology and genetics of IBD. The course will provide students with the opportunity to learn about changes in pathology, histology and radiology related to IBD and how symptoms may be managed with diet and nutrition. Students will learn about the pharmacological and non-pharmacological management of pain in IBD.
