Course description

The extended thesis provides students with opportunity to investigate a topic of personal and professional interest through the development of an independent research investigation. The process enhances students' knowledge and skills in the design, implementation and evaluation of a research project as well as their substantive knowledge of the topic under investigation. The thesis should demonstrate a rationale for the investigation, a review of relevant research literature, the design and implementation of a research methodology to address the rationale of the investigation, the presentation and discussion of findings, and recommendations for further investigation. The report should be presented in a scholarly style appropriate for the context and methodology of the study. APA 5th edition format should be adhered to. Students commencing in semester 1, enrol in MUSC7920. Students commencing in semester 2, enrol in MUSC7930.
