Course description
This course introduces students to contemporary developments in the field of music education, and provides opportunity to consider the implications for music learning and teaching in studio, community, and classroom music settings. Issues to be addressed include: creativity in music and music education, the development of expertise, instrumental performance teaching, music therapies in education settings,comparative music education, philosophy of music education, teacher identity, and formal, non-formal, and informal music learning practices.
