Diagnostic tests in written and aural techniques will be administered in Week 1 classes to determine students' suitability for enrolment in either MUSC1060 or MUSC1600.

Assessment methods

Assignments, aural tests & examination. Students are required to pass both aural and written components.

Course description

Introductory study of writen and aural techniques of Western music, through integrated writing, analysis & aural application. For students with some background in music therory and aural training but who need to consolidate and develope their skills to the standards required in courses in music techniques and aural studies.
