Course description

Description: One of the most defining features of contemporary sport is the way in which globalisation has shaped sporting competitions, the business associated with sport, the ways in which sports are organised, managed and governed, and the multidirectional flow of athletes across local, national and international boarders. The objectives of this course include: situating sport in a broad contemporary context with a particular emphasis on the process of globalisation; understanding, analysing and responding to a range of specific issues affecting sport in a global world; exhibiting a range of critical and reflective skill in relation to global sport.
