Course description

This course explores the entangled medieval histories of the Mediterranean from 1000-1350. We will examine major historical themes, issues, texts, and scholarly debates in order to understand the many diverse medieval societies, cultures, religions and intellectual traditions across the Mediterranean, from Jerusalem to Paris, Baghdad to Constantinople, Tangier to York and beyond.
