Course description

This course reviews the rationale, principles, practices andd emerging trends in the field of sustainability and environmental reporting. The course includes: a review of the historical development of environmental reporting; an introduction to the principles of the triple bottom line; an overview of major international sustainability and environmental reporting standardisation initiatives (e.g. GRI, AA1000, Sigma Project, ISO26000); a review of greenhouse gas emissions management reporting (including the National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting Act) and; a consideration of certification as a form of sustainability and environmental reporting.
