Course description

Rapid technical change brings new and innovative business opportunities. Genuinely new ideas often need equally new and innovative business models to succeed. However, one of the biggest challenges for existing organisations is harnessing these opportunities and developing business models to support them. This course is designed to teach students how to address this issue through working on real entrepreneurship challenges together with an industry partner. The activities include working with an organisation to identify a problem or idea, validating the market opportunity, and developing an appropriate business model to use in launching the idea. Students will gain first-hand knowledge in some of the key challenges organisations face when innovating such as: innovation portfolio management, opportunity identification and validation, and business model innovation.
