Module description

In this Shorter Form Credential (SFC), students will be introduced to issues covering organisational culture and workplace. Students will get to examine the impact of school culture and leadership on teachers' learning in the workplace and examine different countries' practices and how this have impacted the establishment of an inclusive education system. There will also be a segment on school principals as cultural leaders, examining the role of leaders in creating thriving workplace cultures.

The course will allow students to develop leadership skills in identifying priorities, sourcing quality literature, and transforming the evidence into meaningful and relevant applications in your own context pertaining to organisational culture. It aims to enable students to view and understand leadership in context by providing knowledge that balances a strong theoretical base with practical components. The course will also be exploring the role of supervision and leadership. It will introduce students to the essential elements of leading people at work. This includes both the practical exploration of tools and techniques that every leader needs, as well as the critical aspects of being a leader. Here, participants will be asked to reflect on their own behaviours, and in doing so, establish a level of self-awareness needed to be successful in any managerial capacity.

Students will have up to 3 months to complete the module.
