A range of assessment tasks to cater for different cohorts of students including written reflections on the impact on classroom teaching, of national and international research on the teaching of reading, and the development of a plan that incorporates key content of the course into practical classroom strategies.

Course description

This course provides practising teachers with skills, knowledge and understanding related to the teaching of reading in the middle and secondary years of schooling. The focus is on the development of teaching strategies that can be used across Key Learning Areas that are based on international and Australian empirical research.
