Course description

This course builds on student experience in general dental practice and the specialist dental disciplines. Students will continue to develop their skills and competence in history taking, assessment, recognition, diagnosis, treatment planning and aspects of management for conditions managed within the dental specialties including prosthodontics, endodontics, dentomaxillofacial radiology, oral medicine, oral surgery and orthodontics. Students will develop their clinical skills and competence in multi-disciplinary care of adults with moderately complex needs and the care of children, and gain some experience with special needs patients. To support their understanding and clinical skills students will further explore aspects of human and oral diseases, dental pharmacology and therapeutics, disability and medical compromise.
