Course description

This course will consider situations of adversity in varying levels of intensity from health challenges and disability to individual trauma to community disaster. It will introduce loss as an integrating concept in adversity, trauma and trauma-focused care as well as crisis counselling and disaster response. The course will consider the areas of preparedness and intervention from community development, capacity building and Community based psycho-social support to formal interventions in particular adverse situations.
