Course description
This course will be offered from Semester 2, 2023 The capacity to develop research questions and implement research programs is highly desirable in professional engineering practice. This course provides an opportunity for students to enhance their skills in this area through the completion of a study or small research project. Projects are typically completed in a group. Individual projects can be developed with the agreement of the academic research supervisor. The expected thesis activities of each student will vary widely between different research topics and supervisors but can involve various combinations of laboratory experiments, field studies, analysis of existing information sets and numerical modelling. Note that there are no traditional formal lectures or tutorials in this course. Students are required to contact/meet academics to find/develop a suitable research project.
