Course description

This course explores the important concepts of structural and mechanistic organic chemistry and illustrates these concepts using examples taken from the living world. The material relates to organic and inorganic chemistry that underpin agricultural and environmental sciences, including chemical analysis. Laboratory skills will be developed through gaining experience in various laboratory techniques, while the ability to collect, analyse and organise information and ideas, and work and learn independently will be developed. The course will enhance the ability of students to solve problems in chemistry, through working and learning independently.
