Course description

NOT AVAILABLE AFTER 2009. This course introduces students to various topics in molecular and cellular pharmacology that are the themes for research by pharmacology staff at UQ. The course will specifically focus on foundation information and research approaches in drug development for major human diseases such as cancer, stroke, epilepsy, neurodegeneration and inflammatory diseases. In addition, the course will cover topics in molecular toxicology such as bioactivation of chemicals; chemical carcinogenesis and genetic toxicology. The attention to advanced practical work and laboratory skill development will prepare students for graduate research studies or for entry into the workforce.
