Course description
This course is a study of interactions between art and science from the early modern era to the present day. Art and science are often treated as incommensurable fields of experience and practice. Yet a historical examination reveals quite the opposite to be the case. We will consider how art and science have interacted and informed each other in the past, as well as significant episodes of inter-disciplinary exchange. Elucidating key figures and concepts from both the history of art and science will inform our discussion of contemporary practices and new technologies. NOTE: Course offering may be cancelled unless a minimum of 20 students enrol
