Course description
This course examines political life in contemporary Aboriginal Australia, over viewing the diversity of Aboriginal perspectives and the array of institutional tensions that exist in the enactment of broader Indigenous strategies to enhance community wellbeing. State policy and program initiatives, ways they are harnessed or resisted and their various impacts on Aboriginal autonomy, sovereignty, governance, identities and futures provide focal points for our exploration of political terrains as viewed by leading Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians.
