Entry requirements

Prerequisites

Queensland Year 12 (or equivalent) General English subject (Units 3 & 4, C); and audition/interview; a pass in a test of practical ability and musicianship skills.*Applicants must arrange an audition with the School of Music, to take place between 1 September and 30 November of the year preceding admission. A program of no longer than 15 minutes must be prepared. Details must be provided to the School of Music when the applicant arranges the audition. For an audition to be at a competitive standard, the repertoire performed should be comparable to Grade 7 AMEB.* Note: Selection is based on audition, interview and academic results. The Bachelor of Music (Honours) is intended for students wishing to pursue a professional career in music, and integrates the development of practical skills with theoretical and historical musical knowledge, culminating in advanced research training in their chosen Music Honours field. Graduates of the program are equipped for professional careers in music and to undertake postgraduate studies in their chosen Music Honours field.

To complete the Bachelor of Music (Honours)

To graduate with a Bachelor of Music (Honours) a student must have successfully completed all requirements of the program as certified by the Executive Dean. This includes courses to be taken to complete the program and any other specific conditions of the program including admission, enrolment and progression requirements.
