Statistics (Minor)

For the minor in Statistics, students must complete 8 units comprising —
    - 8 units from Statistics minor elective courses.

Students who have not successfully completed Queensland Specialist Mathematics (or equivalent) should complete MATH1050 in their first semester as an elective course.

Students who wish to complete STAT3001 should complete MATH2001 as either part of their major or as an elective course.

  • [1] Students without at least a grade of C in Queensland Specialist Mathematics (or equivalent) are required to take MATH1050 before MATH1051.
  • [2] Students with a keen interest in mathematics and a grade of B or higher in Queensland Specialist Mathematics (or equivalent) (or a 6 or 7 in MATH1050) should take the sequence MATH1071, MATH1072 and MATH2401. Other students, including those with a grade of C in Queensland Specialist Mathematics (or equivalent) (or a 4 or 5 in MATH1050), should take the sequence MATH1051, MATH1052 and MATH2400.
