Course list for the Physics Extended Major

Physics (Extended Major)
For the extended major in Physics, students must complete 24 units comprising —
    - 2 units for Level 1 Physics extended major compulsory course; and
    - 8 units for Level 2 Physics extended major compulsory courses; and
    - 2 units from Level 2 Physics extended major elective courses; and
    - 8 units for Level 3 Physics extended major compulsory courses; and
    - 4 units from Level 3 Physics extended major elective courses.
Students should complete the 2 units of Level 1 prerequisite courses for the extended major.
Students who have not successfully completed Queensland Senior Physics (or equivalent) should complete PHYS1171 in their first semester as an elective course.
Students completing the Physics major or extended major must also complete MATH1051/MATH1071, MATH1052/MATH1072, MATH2001, and MATH2100 in the Applied Mathematics minor.
