Why study the Master of International Commercial Law?
The Master of International Commercial Law (MICLaw) is designed specifically for graduates of any discipline who have relevant work experience related to the courses offered in the program. This is likely to include those working in banking and financial institutions, in a wide variety of commercial enterprises and also lawyers. The program includes three key courses aimed at increasing existing knowledge and understanding of foundational legal concepts and also aimed at enhancing analytical (legal) reasoning and writing skills.

International students are strongly encouraged to register in Orientation Week to attend an optional English for Academic Communication (EAC) program. The program is conducted jointly by staff of the Institute of Continuing and TESOL Education (ICTE) and the Law School. International students are given a brief overview of the Australian legal framework and the common law system. The program also provides an opportunity for new students to meet each other socially.

Program rules for the Master of International Commercial Law
To complete the Master of International Commercial Law
To fulfil the requirements of the Master of International Commercial Law, a student must complete the requisite number of courses chosen from the course list in accordance with the Program Rules.
Students are required to obtain 16 units comprising -
- (a) 6 units from Part A* of the MICLaw course list; and
- (b) 8 units from Part B of the MICLaw course list; and
- (c) 2 units for any other course from Part B of the MICLaw course list or from Part B of the Master of Laws course list (not already counted under (b)).
* Students with a law degree from a common law jurisdiction will be exempted from the requirement to complete these courses.
