Prerequisites

Bachelor degree or equivalent in the same discipline as approved by the Executive Dean with a GPA of at least 5.00 on a 7 point scale and one year full-time work experience in the same discipline as approved by the Executive Dean; or

Bachelor degree or equivalent with a GPA of at least 5.00 on a 7 point scale and three years full-time work experience in the same discipline as approved by the Executive Dean.

Same discipline is a Bachelor degree, and work experience, specialising in at least one of the following areas:

  • event
  • hospitality
  • hotel
  • tourism.

Why study the Master of Tourism Leadership?

The Master of Tourism Leadership prepares graduates with experience working in the tourism, hospitality and events industries for international leadership, research and consultancy positions.

This internationally recognised program will strengthen your leadership capacity and provide you with the skills to sustainably manage products, resources and facilities. You will also develop the research and analytical skills necessary for further academic study.

In addition to building your core knowledge, you can choose to specialise in the fields of service management, tourism development, tourism marketing or visitor management. Program rules for the Master of Tourism Leadership

To complete the Master of Tourism Leadership

To fulfil the requirements of the Master of Tourism Leadership, a student must complete the requisite number of courses chosen from the course list in accordance with the Program Rules.

A student is required to obtain 24 units from the MTLead List comprising -

  • 8 units from Part A; and
  • 12 units from one field of study in Part B; and
  • 4 units from a combination of other courses in Part B or other courses approved by the Head of School.
