Placement courses

Students are required to complete 1500 hours of supervised practice over six semesters. Every effort is made to place students within a reasonable distance of the UQ campus but they can be expected to travel up to 60 minutes away. Students are generally placed at Ipswich, Brisbane, and the Southeast corner of Queensland. Students are required to have a current Blue Card (Working with Children Check) before starting their practice, because all of our students are required to be provisionally registered with the Psychology Board of Queensland before starting their studies. There will be no extra costs to the student in addition to course fees except for incidentals such as travel and daily expenses. The Clinical Program Practicum Handbook provides additional information about practicum and school experience requirements and is available from the School of Psychology.
