Why study the Master of Environmental Management?

Environmental Management is the planning and implementation of actions geared to improve the quality of the human environment. The postgraduate programs in environmental management at the University of Queensland are multidisciplinary programs designed to enhance the skills and technical expertise of graduates working in all facets of the environmental arena. The programs aim to produce managers able to address the many issues in the highly complex and changing area of environmental management. At Masters level the degree may be taken in a range of fields.
Applicants who do not meet the entry requirements for the #24 MEnvMan may apply for the #32 MEnvMan program.

Career opportunities exist in managerial and policy positions in government, consulting firms and research, and in the private sector as environmental management system managers, auditors and policy analysts.

Program rules for the Master of Environmental Management

To complete the Master of Environmental Management

To fulfil the requirements of the Master of Environmental Management, a student must complete the requisite number of courses chosen from the course list in accordance with the Program Rules.

For the #24 MEnvMan a student is required to obtain #24 from the MEnvMan List, comprising:

  • #4 from part B;
  • #10 from part C within a field of study; and
  • #10 from any combination of part C and part D or other courses approved by the Executive Dean.
