Biomedical scientists provide the foundation of modern healthcare and assist in developing treatments for diseases. From cancer screening, diagnosis of HIV, design of new drugs, food poisoning and infection control, biomedical scientists are helping to make incredible advances in modern medical science. By understanding how the human body works and what goes wrong in disease, biomedical scientists apply their knowledge to develop new treatments.

This program will provide you with both the breadth and the depth of modern biomedical science. What you can do with a Bachelor of Biomedical Science

Careers

The Bachelor of Biomedical Science will help you embark on a biomedical science career including in:

  • Hospital and diagnostic clinical laboratories;
  • Biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies;
  • Laboratory work in molecular and cellular biology;
  • Health policy and communication;
  • Secondary schools or other educational institutions, when combined with a teaching qualification.

To complete the Bachelor of Biomedical Science

To graduate with a Bachelor of Biomedical Science a student must have successfully completed all requirements of the program as certified by the Executive Dean. This includes courses to be taken to complete the program and any other specific conditions of the program including admission, enrolment and progression requirements.
