Why study the Bachelors of Mathematics/Business Management?
The dual four-year program provides students with a focused background in economic theories and principles, along with the in-depth knowledge of a mathematics degree. In the Mathematics component you will choose to develop a comprehensive specialised knowledge in one field of mathematics or a high level of sophistication in the applications of mathematics. Modern computation, advances in scientific technology and the increasing production of data have all increased the scope for applications of mathematics well beyond the traditional areas of engineering and the physical sciences, to include fields such as finance, economics, information technology and molecular biology.
In the Business Management component, the compulsory courses allow you to develop core business skills. You can then build on these by selecting specialist areas of study including advertising, business economics, business information systems, human resources, international business, marketing, real estate and development, and sustainability. Program rules for the Bachelors of Mathematics/Business Management
To complete the Bachelors of Mathematics/Business Management
To fulfil the requirements of the Bachelors of Mathematics/Business Management, a student must complete the requisite number of courses chosen from the course list in accordance with the Program Rules.
A student is required to obtain #64 including -
1. #28 towards the BMath component, comprising:
- (i)#14 from Part A of the BMath list; and
- (ii)#14 from Part B or Part C of the BMath list, or a combination of both.
Please note: Students must complete a minimum of #8 Level 3 or higher (late year) courses from Part A or Part B of the BMath course list, or a combination of both.
AND
2. #36 from the BBusMan list, including -
- (i) #24 of compulsory courses from Group 1; and
- (ii) #12 from one major in Group 2 (#6 must be at level 3); or
- (iii) #12 of elective courses from Group 3 (#6 must be at level 3, and only #2 may be
at level 1).
