Entry to the 5 year program BE/ME will be via student application after completion of at least #48 towards a BE in a relevant discipline and is available only to students who are performing at Honours level (i.e. a cumulative weighted GPA of at least 5.0) at the time of application.

Please note that eligible students will continue to receive Centrelink income support for their fourth year of the BE/ME, but cease to be eligible for payments in the fifth year of the program.

The integrated Bachelor of Engineering and Master of Engineering (BE/ME) is the first 5 year engineering degree in Australia to integrate a semester placement, either in industry or research, into a degree with the Master's level course work. Careers
UQ's integrated Bachelor of Engineering and Master of Engineering (BE/ME) degree is highly regarded and employment prospects are excellent. Engineers find employment, as consultants, in the government and in many areas of business and industry. Program rules for the Bachelor of Engineering and Master of Engineering
To complete the Bachelor of Engineering and Master of Engineering
To fulfil the requirements of the Bachelor of Engineering and Master of Engineering, a student must complete the requisite number of courses chosen from the course list in accordance with the Program Rules.
Students must complete 80 units in accordance with the BE and BE/ME course lists. Students must select a field of study when they enrol in the BE/ME.
A non-academic requirement is an essential part of the Bachelor of Engineering program:
- Completion of 60 days of Engineering Professional Practice to satisfy the requirements of Engineers Australia.
Some or all of this may be satisfied by the placement semester.
