BAdvFin&Econ(Hons) develops the analytical rigour needed for a high-powered career in finance and economics, whether in the international banking sector or beyond.
You will work with an elite cohort of exceptionally driven students, gain access to leading academics, researchers and corporate practitioners, & study advanced courses that cover topics including microeconomics, macroeconomics, financial management, financial accounting, econometrics, & tools of economic analysis.
Note: for students who commenced in 2021 or later, the following courses contribute to the research training required by PPL 3.50.12: ECON2030, ECON6910, FINM3414, RBUS4411 & RBUS6996. These courses must be undertaken at UQ.

RBUS4999 is a Work Integrated Learning (WIL) course that provides you with the opportunity to apply theoretical and conceptual knowledge to the workplace via a professional placement. The course is particularly focused on enabling you to develop employability skills, gain workplace knowledge, understand the attitudes of working professionals, grow a professional network, and engage with real world business issues.

Additional application requirements
For the Economics major, students must have a GPA of 5.5 for Part A of the program, and a grade of 5 in ECON2050, ECON3010, ECON3020 and ECON3350.
For the Finance major, students must have a GPA of 5.5 for Part A of the program, and a grade of 5 in FINM2411, FINM3411 and FINM3412.

To graduate with a Bachelor of Advanced Finance and Economics (Honours) a student must have successfully completed all requirements of the program as certified by the Executive Dean. This includes courses to be taken to complete the program and any other specific conditions of the program including admission, enrolment and progression requirements.
