- Natural Systems and Wildlife is available internally at St Lucia campus and both internally and externally at Gatton campus.
Sustainable Development is available internally at St Lucia campus. - An internal student attends lectures, tutorials and practicals on campus. An external student receives instruction by mail, or via the internet. Regardless of whether you study in internal or external mode the program is the same.
- Courses offered in the external mode may have residential school requirements.
- It is an expectation that students will have private access to a computer and the internet

Why study the Bachelor of Environmental Management?
The Bachelor of Environmental Management at Gatton is no longer available for enrolment. Please refer to the new Bachelor of Environmental Management (Honours) program.
Environmental Management is the integration of economics and ecology to utilise and conserve natural systems, and includes any measures taken for the protection, conservation and preservation of the environment, heritage and natural resources.
Environmental Managers consider the scientific, technical, economic, social and management aspects of the environment to produce strategies to manage environmental resources, and to maintain the usefulness of that environment for inhabitation by humans and other species. By studying this degree you will be equipping yourself with the scientific, technical, financial, social and managerial information necessary to analyse problems and produce innovative environmental management solutions.

What you can do with a Bachelor of Environmental Management
Careers
Graduates find employment in state and federal government departments, universities, private industry including tourism, industrial organisations, or commercial consultancies dealing with environmental planning and management, environmental tourism, monitoring, and impact assessment. Students who perform well at honours level may choose a research-related career path by entering a higher degree program.
Jobs:
Graduates of the Bachelor of Environmental Management (Natural Systems and Wildlife) generally find employment in the private or public sector in environmental management and compliance, land care, mine rehabilitation, environmental tourism and as park rangers, managers and environmental officers with local government.

Program rules for the Bachelor of Environmental Management
To complete the Bachelor of Environmental Management
To fulfil the requirements of the Bachelor of Environmental Management, a student must complete the requisite number of courses chosen from the course list in accordance with the Program Rules.
A student is required to obtain #64 comprising -
- #48 from Part A including all compulsory courses; and
- #16 from Part B or #16 from Part H (Honours)
- complete #48 from Part A, and
- gain a GPA of 5 for Part A
