Additional application information
The highlight of this program is the overseas marketing project you may undertake in your final year of study. You, together with a small group of your colleagues, will be engaged as a consultant by an agribusiness firm to undertake market research in an overseas country, usually in Asia. The project will provide you with a unique educational experience in a foreign country and is highly valued by potential employers. In recent years students have undertaken projects in China, Japan, Thailand, Vietnam, Dubai and Singapore.
This program boasts an exceptional employment rate for graduates, with many being offered positions prior to graduation.
It is an expectation that students will have private access to a computer and the Internet.

Why study the Bachelor of Agribusiness?
The Bachelor of Agribusiness has been redeveloped for 2015 to ensure students have access to the best courses and facilities at UQ. Students will now complete courses at both the St Lucia (Brisbane) and Gatton campuses. Courses at St Lucia will be taught by the UQ Business School and courses at Gatton will be taught by the School of Agriculture and Food Science. Both of these Schools are ranked number one in Australia.
The BAgribus program will prepare you for a business career in the growing number of food and fibre industries. It is ideal preparation for business management positions in industries which demand graduates who are consumer focused, commercially aware, innovative, internationally orientated and technically competent.
You will learn about marketing, finance and managing people and technology along the agrifood value chain that links producers with consumers, as well as studying business courses in accounting, economics, and market research in an agribusiness context.
First year of the program is based at Gatton and St Lucia campuses. Students will complete 3 courses at St Lucia and 1 course at Gatton each semester in first year. The subsequent years are based at Gatton campus.

To complete the Bachelor of Agribusiness
To fulfil the requirements of the Bachelor of Agribusiness, a student must complete the requisite number of courses chosen from the course list in accordance with the Program Rules.
A student is required to obtain #48 comprising -
- all courses set out in Part A
- the balance from courses in Part B
