Why study Renewable Energy Engineering?
Students graduating with a Master of Engineering in the field of Renewable Energy Engineering from UQ will have a broad knowledge of how the diverse range of existing and emerging renewable energy technologies fit within current energy systems, as well as the nature and magnitude of the technical and other challenges that need to be overcome in the future. These challenges include the deployment of specific types of renewable energy technology more widely and on a larger scale, their integration into existing systems, and the emergence of new energy systems. The program broadens students' knowledge and understanding to important technical fields beyond their own undergraduate engineering discipline and extend to knowledge beyond engineering that is vital for developing good commercial and economic sense. The program also advances students' skills to a deeper level, by applying their own engineering discipline knowledge to renewable energy technologies and systems. Students will also gain a more in-depth knowledge of a renewable energy technology, or a closely-related engineering topic such as energy storage systems or system integration, chosen for its particular interest to them.
