Why study Petroleum Engineering?

The Master of Engineering Science (Petroleum Engineering) covers the technical disciplines associated with the development of conventional and unconventional oil and gas resources. This field of study combines UQ's worldclass reputation in teaching and research with current industry insights to shape you and your fellow students as the next generation of highly skilled professionals that will solve future energy challenges. This field of study is taught by world-class industry experts, including guest lectures from current industry representatives and mentoring opportunities with senior technical managers. The program includes a world first field development capstone project to design a plan for development of an unconventional gas resource, opportunities for research projects on real industry problems, and hands on learning experiences with advanced software tools.
