Why study Media and Digital Cultures?

The Media and Digital Cultures minor offers a marketable digital complement to a range of majors. Students undertake a critical engagement with the role of media in cultural life, with an emphasis on the cultural practices that emerge from the ubiquity of digital media. Courses cover important forms of media like television and news, digital media industries and technologies, global digital cultures, games and gaming, and the many cultural formations characteristic of media-dense digital societies.
