Why study Indigenous Health?
This field of study produces graduates with a broad understanding of health and illness of Indigenous Australia, and capacity to manage effective public health solutions in a culturally and socially appropriate way.
Graduates have the knowledge and skills to:
- investigate and analyse Indigenous health needs
- interpret policy
- describe the major health issues in Indigenous Australia
- operate effectively within an environment of changing social, economic and political circumstances
- manage effective public health solutions through improved service delivery
- plan, implement and evaluate health interventions
- conduct meaningful research, sensitive to community needs and protocols
All fields of study are a mixture of internal and external delivery. All core courses are offered internally and externally. If a student wishes to complete the program either entirely by internal or external delivery the choice of courses is more limited.
Summer Semester entry is not available for international students.
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are particularly encouraged to apply.
