Why study Horticulture?

As a Horticulture graduate you will play an essential role in the global challenges of producing sustainable, high quality, nutritious food for an increasing world population, while maintaining our environment and quality of life in urban areas. You will develop research, multi-disciplinary and leadership skills to enable you to integrate and apply knowledge across the production to consumption chain.

What you can study

The program has been designed to develop core research and leadership skills, scientific knowledge of agriculture and horticulture but with the flexibility to allow you to select electives from Agribusiness, Animal, Social and Food Sciences. You will have the opportunity to visit production sites in southern Queensland and will complete a significant research project in a selected area of interest.
