Why study French Advanced?

French is one of the most widely spoken and fastest growing languages in the world, with 76 million native speakers, a further estimated 235 million who use it daily, and millions more who use French regularly professionally or socially. Nations where French is the official language are found across Europe, Africa, Oceania and North America. The French Advanced minor allows you to reach B2/C1 level on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages: you should be able to communicate in depth on a broad range of subjects, in culturally appropriate ways, displaying familiarity with the conventions of reading, writing and speaking, and knowledge of French-speaking cultures.
