Why study Exploration Geology?

The Master of Mineral Resources (Exploration Geology) supports geoscience professionals to develop advanced skills in economic geology and mineral exploration (including coal). The program structure allows access to a range of geoscience electives. The program broadly skills graduates in ore deposit and exploration geology, geochemistry, geophysics and geostatistics, and their application to the discovery and evaluation of ore deposits and energy resources. There is an emphasis on data analysis and management, and the use of software in resource estimation and geological modelling. A research project will further develop analytical, computational and research skills. Core academic staff have significant industry experience and most projects are undertaken in collaboration with industry partners.
