Why study Economics?

Economics is about people and what arrangements in society may improve people's life. Individuals, households, and organisations make decisions given their preferences, incentives, beliefs, habits, and constraints. Studying economics allows you to understand better questions such as how individuals and organisations make decisions such as investment and consumption, how they interact with each other, and what makes a society prosper. In a world that is complex, uncertain, and at times volatile, a minor in economics provides you with useful conceptual frameworks and analytical tools to make sense of how the economy works and perhaps make better decisions in your career, education choices, saving and investment.
