Why study Computational Science and Geological Sciences?

Would you like to simulate how certain land uses will affect a region? What if you could develop more accurate methods of mineral discovery?

Computational Science is an interdisciplinary field which uses skills from mathematics and information technology to tackle real-world scientific problems which can only be solved through computation.

Geology is the study of the interacting systems of the solid Earth, atmosphere, hydrosphere, and biosphere as they evolve through time. Geologists use advanced modelling techniques to ensure the sustainability and responsible use of natural resources, and tackle environmental challenges.

In this dual major, you will learn to construct realistic mathematical models and simulations, perform quantitative analysis of scientific problems using computers, and develop skills to solve real challenges in the geological sciences.
